I love art, I love painting, drawing, and I love all kind of crafts. This summer I started painting on cups and mugs. If I was not so darn impatient I would probably do a lot more of them 🙂 But, i have been getting a few orders here and there and my first big one is going as I write, straight to Iceland to a dear friend of mine. He wanted six vintage looking coffee cups + plates with royal blue ravens, it came out looking pretty good if I say so myself, and he is very pleased. If the buyer is happy, I´m happy 🙂 I just pray and cross my fingers that they will make it all the way! I have a loving connection to animals, I especially love ravens, owls, arctic animals and horses, all are so beautiful and graceful.
I´m keeping this short today, but here you can see my mugs and the special order, enjoy! X
Until next time,
For the last 2 or 3 weeks I’ve been trying to become a „morning person“. I made a one month calendar and set a few goals to start with. I decided that I would go to bed before 11 PM and wake up at 7 AM, I should also drink less coffee (Self torture, I know!) and more water. But there was one problem. It didn’t matter when I went to bed, how much sleep I got, I couldn’t wake up on time! After a visit to my doctor and a lot of bloodsucking from my veins, ouch, he told me that I was low in iron and should take iron supplements for 6 weeks, then come back. Being the health guru that I am (well almost) I have decided to take matters into my own hands, and fix my iron levels with food! I truly truly believe that our health depends on what we eat, food should be our medicine and vitamin source, at least for the most part.
So, since I´m a vegetarian, I started to read and read which foods contain iron and I’ve added those foods to my „morning person calendar“. I´m dreading the blood part at the doctors, but can´t wait to see the results!
I´ll be drinking one of those green smoothies a day and of course eating a lot of other stuff as well, like beans and seeds. Here´s the recipe if you wanna try it. It´s really yummy! ❤
„Green Smoothie For Strong Kids!“ (as me and my daughter call it)
- One handfull Spinach, stems removed
- Cucumber, about 2 inches
- 1 frozen banana
- A splash of orange juice
- A splash of water
- 1/4 cup frozen pinapple (optional)
- Throw it all in a mixer, mix it up and enjoy! ❤
Until next time,
So, I´ve decided to start a blog. I want to simply just share thoughts, art creations and normal life stuff with people who are interested in what I do. Starting a blog isn´t as easy as I thought it would be. It´s one thing to get that idea, „hey, why not tell the world what i do everyday?“ but to actually do it, write about my normal life and thoughts is a totally different thing! But, as my art admirers group is growing (thank you all, I love you!) I want to make it a little more personal and share with you all „behind the scenes thoughts“ from the mind of a creative, cluttered and weird artist, mommy and food lover.
So. Let the introduction begin!
Hi. My name is Henriette Kjeldal, usually called Henný (Not pronounced Honey btw). I am 27 years old, half Danish and half Icelandic, born in Denmark, mostly raised in Iceland, for a short time I lived in London, England, and currently living in Norway. I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter named Isabella and a beautiful stepson who is almost 6 years old named Gabriel. I´ve got an amazing fiance and an imaginary poodle ghost thingy dog. Just kidding. I do have a fiance though.
I have always been very creative and always loved to draw. I grew up on a farm so mostly I drew animals… and still do. I am a very VERY big animal lover and there fore a vegetarian. I am very spiritual and some might say obsessed with training my mind to only focus on good things and a healthy mental state of mind. Don´t get me wrong, I´m only human, of course I throw tantrums and feel blue every now and then, but most of the time I´m super happy and fun! 🙂
I am a BIG believer in Karma, I love to read and paint and draw. I love a good soy latte with caramel syrup (I´m very stuck in my ways too, been my favorite drink for years!), love good healthy food but of course I love a delicious guilty pleasure dessert as well.
Over the last 3-4 years I have been nurturing my skills. Practicing my skills and finding my way in life. I am definitely supposed to be an artist! At the moment I´m focusing on starting my own business and designing a whole lot of pretty, arty, cool and unique stuff for a fair price, and my main focus is giving back to others as well. But that´s a whole other story that I´ll tell you about later.
So, I think this is good for now. Hopefully you liked my amazing introduction, and hopefullt you´ll be back for more!
Until next time,
